My client, a homeowner and avid gardener, contacted me to ask for evaluation of a tulip poplar that recently declined and now appeared dead. I visited the site to examine the tree. A through evaluation led to the discovery of trunk-girdling roots, basal decay, and the presence of insects. Lastly, I helped the homeowner to evaluate the potential options for next steps for the tree.
